Limitlessness, Fluidity, and Other Things

I did say that this blog was going to be quite philosophical, and I think this post will especially embody what I intended. I chose to name this blog “Limitless” because the concept of infinity is at the very essence of our existence. Well, for instance, our universe is infinitely large, and the multiverse theory states that there are an infinite group of universes expanding and growing, in some limitless space. The concept of limitlessness is very intriguing, especially when you initially think about it, but once you start thinking a little more, it hurts your brain a little. When you apply this concept of infinite possibilities to human life, that’s when your brain hurts even more.
Humans. We’re fascinating. Not many people appreciate how incredible our transformation was, but our ancestors were cavemen at some point. We were never stupid (this is a subjective statement, don’t attack me :)), but we did become more intelligent over time, and with intelligence came the ability to do more-- to advance. And through this advancement, we’ve opened up our minds to this concept of limitless possibilities in everything we do.
I emphasize “limitless possibilities” because people often fail to realize that they have many different options and paths in a situation. Life can be treated as such a situation, and every second, you’re making a decision about whether you want to lay on the couch, go to work, exercise, eat, and well… even live.
There are many obstacles in life, and in the end, it is our decision to persevere or not. Despite the cliche, I do believe that there is “always a way.” There is always a limitless gray area between what appears to be black or white. However, situations often appear to be black or white because the human mind is very restrictive when it comes to emotions. When emotions start to control thought, the fluidity in our thinking disappears.
For instance, when we’re depressed, we tend to only see the more negative outcomes of a situation--the worst possibility. It’s not the exact opposite when we’re happier because when we’re more content we tend to have greater peace of mind, allowing us to have more fluid thinking; thus, we are open to more possibilities and outcomes in a situation.
Our intelligence has gotten us this fair, but does that mean that our emotions hinder advancement since we can’t control them and at times they prevent us from thinking fluidly? Emotions define us, and the concept of limitlessness defines our very existence. So, doesn’t that mean that humans have an infinite potential to evolve and grow? We’ve grown this much already, so let's see how much further we can go. Emotions are inevitable, so they aren’t a hindrance. At times they can be an obstacle, but they’re also the fuel to humanity’s advancement.
